With temperatures steadily creeping into the 80's, we're antsy to hit the beach ... but this time as locals instead of tourists. Our new home is less than an hour's drive from Romar Public Beach, located on Perdido Beach Boulevard alongside Seaside Beach & Racquet Club and Sunswept, where we've often stayed as tourists.
An afternoon shopping trip for sun-and-sand gear have helped get us in the mood. After arriving home with our goodies, I learned that a number of items were produced by the same manufacturer, in spite of being purchased at different area stores. I also discovered an unexpected mood setter: Soothing surfside sounds (AKA beach music) on Riobrands website.
Coastal vacations have been among our favorites because of the beach's ageless appeal. While children shovel sand into plastic buckets, water bugs enjoy swimming, tubing and wakeboarding. Gulf breezes make kite flying along the coast especially challenging and gratifying. And all of it's fun to watch while strolling along the water's edge or relaxing on the sand. Aaaaahhhh ...
