Listen Gently to the Wind

The Largest Wind Farm In The World: Horse Hollow is located in the county where I was born in Texas over 73 years ago.

Here's a video about this:

NBC Sunday Morning
Wind energy in West Texas, Wind Turbines

The wind* blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.

Gospel of John 3:8 (New International Version)

*The same Greek word means wind and spirit

The poem below reminded me of a book I recommended last year — What is the wind trying to tell us?

Listen gently to the wind,
To the song of some small bird.
Listen gently to your heart,
There’s a song that can’t be heard.
There’s a gift I give from me to you
For no one else to share
It’s the happiness I feel inside
Just knowing you are there.

— Bob Arness

One of the questions I asked Bob was if he had a certain person in mind when he wrote it. He said he didn’t. I think this poem is a love poem, and it’s a gift to God. What do you think?
