NAPOLEON

As it was beginning to get light today, there was little Napoleon, the hummingbird feeder's self-assigned guard. He's taking his job very seriously.

  1. Unsure if this occurs on the Gulf Coast, but September in my neck of the woods heralds hummingbird migration season. Either my house didn't attract the sort of swarms I've seen in preceding years, or I was too busy getting ready for my upcoming trip to notice. The feeder was bone dry, though, when I returned from Philadelphia. I added another cup of nectar for any migrating passersby.
